Eclipse: Ocorreu um erro ao filtrar recursos

Estou construindo um projeto Spring MVC e o Eclipse está lançando esse erro (veja a captura de tela). Meu pom.xml é:

Bem, isso resolveu o meu também. Alguém descobriu por que isso acontece? Sempre presumia que o Eclipse era atualizado automaticamente quando você modificava o pom.xml?
precisa saber é o seguinte

Ainda não entendi por que o erro ocorre, embora tenha sido resolvido pelo projeto maven-update com configurações padrão
