ImportError: não é possível importar o nome md5

Realmente não sei o que está acontecendo aqui, preciso implantar meu aplicativo de balão no pé de feijão elástico, mas de alguma forma mudei o caminho e não consigo mais executar o python application.py

Estou usando o macOS, corrija isso brew unlink openssl && brew reinstall python@2

Eu pessoalmente uso e recomendaria o pyenv para gerenciar versões do Python. No começo eu não tinha certeza de como corrigir isso e tentei reinstalar usando brewo sugerido aqui . No entanto, lembrei-me de que eu costumava pyenvinstalar e, portanto, consegui corrigir meu erro.

pyenv install -f 2.7.15

A -fopção força a instalação dessa versão, mesmo que ela já exista no seu sistema. Você precisaria usar 2.7.16ou qualquer versão que desejasse.

O python-buildque pyenvusa usará a opensslbiblioteca a partir de brewse estiver disponível.
