Edit: Eu não recomendo atualizar o CentOS 7 para o kernel-ml, pois há muitos problemas de estabilidade que podem resultar (especificamente, a virtualização não está funcionando corretamente). O que eu achei como uma solução melhor foi procurar no "Backport" o kernel do Linux.

Eu reiniciei e tudo parece estar funcionando. Não há necessidade de atualizar para o kernel-ml.
Resposta antiga a seguir (isso também funciona, mas você não estará mais na linha principal do CentOS):
Então, tentei algumas coisas tentando permanecer "oficiais", como atualizar meu kernel para o release ML do ELREPO, e instalei o firmware adicional com o pacote linux-firmware.
O que acabei fazendo foi visitar: https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/drivers/iwlwifi#firmware, que publicou as atualizações de firmware mais recentes.
Acontece que esses cabeçalhos de firmware estão realmente nos cabeçalhos mais recentes do kernel-ml, eles simplesmente não existiam na minha pasta / lib / firmware.
Portanto, baixei o tarball Intel® Wireless 7265 em https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/_media/en/users/drivers/iwlwifi-7265-ucode-23.15.10.0.tgz (há uma tabela nesta página com outros drivers mais recentes também) e apenas seguiu a etapa para copiá-los para / lib / firmware
Reiniciei o laptop e tudo funcionou!
