O Python 2 pode ser removido com segurança do Ubuntu 14.04?

Atualizei meu PC do Ubuntu 13.10 para o Ubuntu 14.04.

Ouvi dizer que o Ubuntu 14.04 não inclui o Python2, mas meu sistema Ubuntu 14.04 ainda possui o Python 2 instalado.

Posso remover o Python 2.7.6 do meu PC? Claro, eu sei que alguns softwares podem depender do Python2.
