$ sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not possible due to RF-kill
e depois
$ sudo rfkill list all
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
1: tpacpi_bluetooth_sw: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: yes
O que significa o erro msg? O que é o RF-kill?

Quando aplico a sugestão do Fossfreedom, recebo "SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device"

"SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device"
. Eu adicionei a saída do comando lshow à pergunta.
fonte
ifconfig wlan0 up
Basta suspender a sessão (fechar a tampa) e reativá-la e o wifi funciona.

asus-wifi.conf
em/etc/modprobe.d/
contendo:Após a reinicialização, o wifi deve estar ativado.

Isso me dá:
No laptop, existem 2 slots mini-PCI-e.

ifconfig wlan0 up
E funcionoufonte

A saída para 'rfkill list all' finalmente mostra
