Por que a unidade não entra no modo de espera ao usar hdparm -S

Ao ler as hdparmpáginas do manual, diz que o -Svalor

é usado pelo inversor para determinar quanto tempo esperar (sem atividade de disco) antes de desligar o motor do eixo para economizar energia

Ao configurar minhas unidades com hdparm -B 1 -K 1 -S 120 /dev/sd[d-z]a saída é:

 setting drive keep features to 1 (on)
 setting Advanced Power Management level to 0x01 (1)
 setting standby to 120 (10 minutes)
 APM_level    = 1

E o estado inicial da unidade hdparm -C /dev/sd[d-z]é " ativo / ocioso ".

Todas essas /dev/sd[d-z]unidades são da mesma marca e modelo, não são particionadas, não são formatadas e não são montadas.

Depois de aguardar 15 minutos , o estado da unidade ainda está " ativo / inativo ".

Somente ao emitir uma "Forçar uma unidade IDE a entrar imediatamente no modo de espera de baixo consumo de energia" usando hdparm -y /dev/sd[d-z]a unidade, vá para o estado "Em espera ".

Por que minhas unidades não entram no estado de espera de baixo consumo de energia após o valor de tempo limite especificado pelo hdparm?
