Como ajustar nosso servidor MySQL?

O MySQL não é para mim, mas preciso ajustar um de nossos servidores.

Aqui estão os requisitos / especificações:

  • O servidor MySQL possui apenas um banco de dados significativo
  • Temos apenas um "tipo" de aplicativo conectado a ele e não há muitas instâncias ao mesmo tempo: no máximo 15. (esses aplicativos são bots XMPP)
  • Esses aplicativos têm uma E / S sem bloqueio, o que significa que eles nunca "esperam" no servidor do banco de dados e continuam lidando com solicitações recebidas enquanto as consultas ao banco de dados estão sendo processadas. Isso implica que em algum momento uma instância desse aplicativo possa ter várias conexões (muito!) Com o servidor de banco de dados (especialmente se algumas consultas forem lentas)
    • Todas as consultas estão usando índices
    • Nossa máquina host roda apenas o MySQL. É uma instância do Xen (@slicehost) com 2 GB de RAM.
    • Usamos a tabela InnoDB porque precisamos de algumas transações básicas, mas provavelmente poderíamos mudar para o MyISAM se isso tivesse um impacto real no desempenho.

Como está configurado agora, nosso servidor MySQL começa lentamente a consumir toda a memória disponível (usamos o collectd, aqui está um gráfico). Em algum momento (depois de alguns dias / semanas), ele para de executar consultas (parou esta noite por 2 horas e eu tive que reiniciar o servidor MySQL: veja a segunda imagem):

Você provavelmente não deve considerar o MyISAM, o INNODB funcionará para você. O MyISAM é talvez mais rápido no que diz respeito, SELECTmas (por exemplo) bloqueia sua tabela completa de atualizações.

Quanto ao INNODB:

  • geralmente, sempre considere mais RAM antes de entrar no sharding (tamanho do DB = ~ RAM)
  • dê uma olhada nas seguintes variáveis:
    • innodb_buffer_pool_size (usamos aproximadamente 60-70% da nossa memória)
    • innodb_log_file_size
    • innodb_log_buffer_size
    • innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit
    • innodb_thread_concurrency
    • innodb_flush_method=O_DIRECT
    • innodb_file_per_table
  • mudar de innodb para xtradb (mesma API)
  • use as compilações percona (elas contêm patches de desempenho do Google etc.)

Ótimas leituras:

Em uma nota lateral:

  • uma fatia de 2 GB não é suficiente para executar isso
  • ainda mais, achei o armazenamento no slicehost bastante lento (io é um fator)
  • na nuvem, pode fazer sentido fragmentar mais cedo (causa do limite de RAM)
  • Eu executaria todas as consultas EXPLAINpara garantir que o índice estivesse realmente sendo usado

Ótima resposta! No momento, o tamanho do nosso banco de dados é de 61M ... então, se eu acredito na sua afirmação DB = ~ RAM; temos bastante RAM! Eu acho que o armazenamento é realmente lento (porque é virtualizado, eu acho). Vou ler seus links. Obrigado!

Eu achei o MySQLTuner bastante eficaz no passado - ele pode fazer sugestões sensatas para alterações na configuração com base no uso do seu servidor. É baseado no script tuning-primer , que também vale a pena tentar.

Se você puder substituir as cláusulas where por IDs específicos (supondo que não haja muitos), isso poderá acelerar essas atualizações.

Usar algo como a pesquisa esfinge, que você pode agrupar facilmente para encontrar itens com antecedência, ajudará. Ouvi dizer que ele pode retornar pesquisas mais rapidamente do que o mysql sabe que possui índices.

Você está: .. ONDE ( feeds. urlIN (NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL)) .. .. ONDE ( feeds. urlIN ('S', 'S')) .. Aqueles pode ser mais caro do que encontrar os IDs inteiros via sphinx primeiro e, usando sphinx, você pode transferir a carga para outro servidor facilmente, preocupando-se com as configurações de mestre-escravo e atrasos no log de bin.

Se fosse um número inteiro em vez de (suponho) um VARCHAR (10) ou algo assim, sim, o número inteiro usaria menos espaço e o mysql poderia encontrá-lo na tabela de índices mais rapidamente.

Verifique novamente as consultas que estão demorando tanto. As tabelas estão indexadas corretamente?

Você também pode executar o MySQL Tuner para ajustar suas configurações de mysql.

Sim, acontece quando o servidor bloqueia e, novamente, verifiquei todas as consultas: todos eles usam índices. (+ As consultas mais lentos também são consultas INSERT ... que não tem nada a ver com índices, AFAIK)
